Case Handling Module (MOS): the electronic path for submitting residence applications
From 27 April 2026, applications for a temporary residence permit, permanent residence permit and EU long-term resident status are submitted exclusively electronically via the MOS portal. Paper applications received after 26 April 2026 are left unexamined.
What the Case Handling Module is
MOS is the portal made available by the administration for submitting residence permit applications. From 27 April 2026, applications for a temporary residence permit, permanent residence permit and EU long-term resident status are submitted exclusively through this route (art. 225a ust. 1 ustawy o cudzoziemcach — Foreigners Act). Paper applications received by the voivodeship office after 26 April 2026 are left unexamined — the date of receipt counts, not the date the item was sent.
You fill in the application in your browser, without booking an appointment or visiting an office at this stage. You can pause filling it in, save the data and return to it later. Access to the system is free, and you can submit the application yourself — you do not need to use paid intermediaries.

Applications for a temporary residence permit, permanent residence permit and EU long-term resident status are submitted electronically. You attach a current digital photograph, a reproduction of all pages of a valid travel document, and confirmation of the fees: 100 PLN for issuing the residence card and the stamp duty for granting the permit, which ranges from 340 PLN to 640 PLN depending on the type of permit.
Confirming identity
You log in to the portal in person via login.gov.pl, and you sign the completed application with a trusted profile (profil zaufany), a qualified electronic signature, or a personal signature. You need to create an account from scratch, as accounts from the previous version of MOS were not carried over. Never share your login details with anyone.
